WOMEN at WAR
The role of female soldiers in the military is expanding day by day. They form the majority of duties in military forces. Many people think that this is not the job of women. These people holding the opposing ideas base their arguments on nothing, but fake stereotypes.Military forces should give them a break! Women can be soldiers just like man and I call out to these people conflicting with me: “Wake up!” Both sexes have equal chances. Anyways, I’ m not bothered about what people say and I strongly believe that women should join military services because they are a wonderful asset to the military, military forces need different abilities, and war is a national affair.
First, women as they are equal to male ones, a female can be perform a wonderful asset to the military. According to Lory Manning ( 2007 ), women have been in combat for four years and they haven’ t run into a problem during this time. On the other hand, many people are convinced that women are not physically, mentally, and amotionally strong enough. ( page 32 ), but this is not the fact. One must admit that females can also can take risks. They can also prove themselves in rash actions. Altough many guys think that they have a fragile looking, women have enough patience, they can cope with the enemies, that is, they are equal to their counterparts. By the way, females are less aggressive when compared to men. This doesn’ t mean that this will lead to a less affective military. In contrast, this can lead a positive result in that they can survive more lives at war, so we shouldn’ t look at them as a troublemaker.
Second, women in combat can also display different abilities. For instance, they have variety of capacities or abilities. This can be an advantage because females are able to make use of their femininity to their advantage. All the same, it is possible that women in combat are on duty as a nurse, doctor, etc. In the mean time, men serving at war, surely can benefit from women’ s intelligence. If men believe in that, women can actually be practical in combat. Also, Treedle ( 2007 ) argues that “ Their vulnerability lies though in the enemy, who would abuse and use their femininity to their advantage. “ ( n. p ) He highlights the fact that they can endure the difficulties that they will run into . They can also stand their enemies successfully and they can save lives from lots of pitfalls. In this way, men serving in the military should belive them at heart because they are in the same boat.
Third, when people come across a war, this is not only the job of men, but it’ s a national affair. This means that both men and women should participate in combat. They should all stick together. And, females and males are each equal to each other. We should also bring the equality in the military forces. In that way, we can say, they can face the same risks with men, too. We should give them a chance. In a national war, unity and cooperation are important factors. Women and men can save time with their unity and cooperation. Again, this confirms the idea that females are useful beings even in the military, so what conclusion can be drawn from all this?
In conclusion, If someone weighs up the pros and cons of this case, one soon realises that military forces could be improved by integrating different abilities, psychologies, and different aptitudes. That is, in addition to the fact that the war is a national affair in which everybody- males and females – should be involved. Whilst some would disagree with this opinion, they should face the facts that war is a concernn for everybody, men, women, children, elder people, young people, so why do we keep holding on a nonsense opinion? If, God forbids, a country looses in a war, the effect of that loss would include women as well. A country in times of hardships is in real need of every possible force power, be it men or women, as long as they can affect the result of the war, they should be involved, so why do not we look at those armies that make use of women in their troops? Actions speak louder…
